Code 93, read on this page

Compact successor to Code 39. Try it right here — the workbench below reads Code 93 from the lens or from a dropped photo, then files the value with a format tag. Specimen: CODE93-DEMO

Viewfinder is off

Start it to read live. Frames are examined here — nothing streams out.

Idle — choose Start to open the viewfinder.

For smudged or torn labels where the lens gives up. Filed entries join the same tray.

Decoded values

Tray is empty

Every successful read lands here with its format tag, ready to copy or export.

Your tray never syncs anywhere — it lives in this browser's storage.

READING NOTES

Getting a Code 93 to resolve

Linear codes live or die on horizontal sharpness: keep both quiet zones (blank margins) inside the frame and the bars perpendicular to any motion blur. Side light beats head-on flash on gloss.

WHEN IT WON'T READ

Fallbacks that work

  • A — Flatten the label; curves smear bars at edges.
  • B — Back off slightly so autofocus can lock, then drift in.
  • C — Key the printed digits into "Key it in" — same tray, same export.
